Note; Sweet and cedar-woody, sharper than that of Virginian Cedarwood. Range in color from golden-yellow to brown.

Therapeutic: Antiseptic, anti fungal, anti dandruff, rheumatic, antispasmodic, astringent, expectorant, circulatory stimulant, sedative, energizer, insect repellent.
Has a grounding, calming, uplifting, and aphrodisiac effects on the mood as well as warming effects on the skin. Skin penetrating enhancer.
External/ skin applications uses:Enhancing skin qualities by addressing acne, psoriasis, and eczema.In a light carrier oil, face wash, cream, or a moisturizer.
Cedarwood is known to cleanse the scalp, by removing excess oil,and dandruff. Oil can be diluted in regular shampoo and conditioner. Alternatively a few drops in a carrier oil such as coconut oil, and massage into scalp for a few minutes. By adding combined oils of Thyme, Lavender, or Rosemary to purify and increase circulation to the scalp. This has been known to encourage new growth and enhances the appearance of more voluminous hair by using for several months. I also will add this to my Beard Oils for the same reasons.
Cedarwood diluted with a carrier oil can be very good for aches, pain, muscle spasms, stiffness and inflammation.
Inhalation uses: Ideal for soothing respiratory aliments, such as coughs and bronchitis, promotes discharge, phlegm and mucus from the lungs and throat, as well as a sedative for the nervous system while stimulating the respiratory system to deal with infections, physical stress and inflammation. Blends well with Lavender, Cypress, Rosemary, and Rose for respiratory problems.
Emotional/ Energetic Qualities: May encourage self confidence and inner strength, endurance during difficult times. Supports confidence in challenging situations. Grounding. Use by inhalation or in a topical cream and oils.
Insect: It has been used to make chest for storing clothing and paper because of its ability to repel insects.
There are many Cedarwood Essential Oils to choose from. This Cedarwood Atlas should not be used with children. The milder one would be Cedarwood Virginian (Juniperus virginiana). Same qualities.
